Mr. Hackler edited and published weekly newspapers in Texas. He created Southwest Publishing Inc. and published a monthly business magazine in New Mexico and other magazines throughout New Mexico. After selling Southwest Publications, Mr. Hackler owned and operated several small businesses. He retired in 1996 and lived with his wife, Cathy, in France, Uruguay, Argentina and various towns and cities in Spain. From 2012 to 2020, Mr. Hackler owned and operated the Rimrock Ranch in Southwestern New Mexico. He lives with his wife in Corrales, New Mexico, with their two dogs, Zor and Mikey.
Many people who read these poems will ask, “How can the author pen such rough and sometimes sensual poems and claim to be a born again Christian?
First, some of these poems were written over a 40-year period.
Second, almost half of the book is about God, forgiveness, redemption and salvation.
Third, when you take Jesus into your heart and sincerely confess your sins, you are not the person you were before.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
